The Eastside Neighborhood Association emerged in 2004 with the assistance of the North Coastal Prevention Coalition and Vista Community Clinic to reduce high crime rates impacting the Eastside Neighborhood in Oceanside, CA. It was formed by ten concerned residents who were determined to change the physical and social conditions of the neighborhood and improve the quality of life of children and families in the neighborhood. Their hard work and positive attitude has been the key to building trust between association members and city officials as well as other stakeholders. Members are volunteers who have full-time jobs and families. However, they manage their time to give back to the community.

The association invites other residents to join their efforts. They meet the last Thursday of the month; these meetings are open to the entire community and are used to address issues and find possible solutions.
