About 420 Remix

420 Remix is an annual event that raises awareness about the risks of marijuana use among teens. The event aims to redefine April 20th, a day commonly associated with cannabis culture, by promoting positive alternatives and encouraging young people to choose healthy, drug-free lifestyles.

Launched in 2004 by the North Coastal Prevention Coalition (NCPC) in partnership with Vista Community Clinic (VCC), 420 Remix continues to inspire youth to make informed choices, resist peer pressure, and live drug-free lives.

420 Remix Event Details

Held historically on April 20th in schools, parks, and other family-friendly venues, 420 Remix offers a fun and engaging environment where teens can make positive choices. Attendees can enjoy carnival games, live music, and interactive activities, while parents gain access to valuable resources on the effects of marijuana use.

Public Service Announcement (PSA) Contest

Each year, the 420 Remix PSA Contest gives 6th-12th graders in San Diego County an opportunity to raise awareness about the harmful effects of marijuana and promote a healthier, drug-free lifestyle.

The theme for the 2025 contest was “I Choose Not to Use,” and San Diego youth submitted digital images and videos to share their message. Winners of the PSA Contest are traditionally announced at the 420 Remix event.
