On April 25, 2015, the winners of the San Diego County Office of Education’s iVIE Awards were announced.
The North Coastal Prevention Coalition sponsored a “Drug Prevention Category” and allowed submissions from youth groups in middle and high schools throughout the County.
The winners were:
Middle School: “One Day” by Mission Middle School in Escondido available to view at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k58V3M0cgyU
High School: “The Truth About Youth Marijuana Use” by the El Camino High School Rise Above Club available to view at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8ddSixuuLQ
Both groups were awarded $500 for their winning videos. The video contest was in addition to NCPC’s annual 420 Remix: A Celebration of Sober and Drug-Free Life Choices event, which aims to counter pro-marijuana influences typically associated with a popular “weed smoking” holiday on April 20 (or 4/20).
