What is 420 Remix?

420 Remix is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about the risks of marijuana use among teens aged 12 to 18. By changing the perspective of April 20th—a day commonly associated with cannabis culture—this event encourages young people to embrace healthy, drug-free lifestyles.

420 Remix Event Details

Held historically on April 20th in schools, parks, and other family-friendly venues, 420 Remix offers a fun and engaging environment where teens can make positive choices. Attendees can enjoy carnival games, live music, and interactive activities, while parents gain access to valuable resources on the effects of marijuana use.

420 Remix Public Service Announcement (PSA) Contest

Each year, the 420 Remix PSA Contest is an opportunity for 6th-12th graders in San Diego County to raise awareness about the harmful effects of marijuana and promote a healthier, drug-free lifestyle.

The theme for the 2025 contest was “I Choose Not to Use,” and San Diego youth submitted digital images and videos to share their message. Winners of the PSA Contest are traditionally announced at the 420 Remix event.

The History of 420 Remix

420 Remix began in 2004 as an initiative by the North Coastal Prevention Program (NCPC) in collaboration with the Vista Community Clinic (VCC). Since its launch, each event has inspired young people to make wise decisions, resist peer pressure, and lead healthy, drug-free lives.
