The North Coastal Prevention Youth Coalition (NCPYC) is a program of the North Coastal Prevention Coalition. The goal of NCPYC is to reduce youth access to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs through environmental prevention in the cities of Carlsbad, Oceanside, and Vista. NCPYC is funded in part by the County of San Diego's Health and Human Services Agency through Alcohol and Drug Services, the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), and California Proposition 99. NCPYC provides a great opportunity for teens to become involved in their communities and helps teens develop leadership skills as well as to build their resumes for jobs and college applications. The teens get a chance to participate in countywide prevention activities as well as earn stipends and fulfill community service requirements. NCPYC will be involved in activities such as community outreach, youth purchase surveys, merchant education, city council meetings, producing media materials, working with law enforcement, and much more!
